Health Department Staff Involved in Leadership Development

LEONARDTOWN, MD (December 11, 2024)— Multiple public health professionals at the St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) have been selected to advance their leadership capabilities and public health skills in local or regional initiatives. These programs build future professional leaders by strengthening their knowledge of their community, providing opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, and sharpening leadership skills such as strategic decision-making, creativity, and communications.

Staff who have been selected for leadership development programs include:

  • Leadership Southern Maryland Executive Program: Dr. Stephanie Harper and Tammy Loewe
  • Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program: Amber Grabowski, Ashley Mowatt, Kathleen Tippett, Kelli Goldsborough, Lisa Milburn, Meaghan Lansley, Paula Carson, Sonia Vance
  • St. Mary’s County Leadership Academy: Chris Shea, Erica Johnson, Kelly Richards, Michael Pottinger
  • Mid-Atlantic Regional Public Health Training Center Leadership Institute: Zachary Kane
  • Maryland Department of Health Leadership Development Program: Chris Shea, Sarah Winter-Kolbe, Taylor Nickerson, Zuriel Savoy
